How do I find an expert?
Online expert advice and online expert services can be browsed by a
keyword search of the Experts, Sessions, Videos or Articles on OaBell.
Clicking the Sessions Tab allows you to perform an advanced search
based on criteria such as Language, Fee, and Timezone.
How do I book an appointment with an expert?
Once you find a suitable expert, you can send an enquiry
message or an online meeting can be scheduled by selecting a time from
their booking form when you wish to communicate. The expert will be
notified regarding the booking.
How do I post an advert for an expert?
Another option we offer to
clients is to create an advert posting for finding the correct expert. Doing this
allows suitable experts to view and apply for your offer.
What happens once you have made a booking?
After a booking has been made, an email notification will be sent to
the expert, requesting that they either confirm or reject the booking.
Once the expert accepts or rejects the booking, the client will
receive notification. Until confirmed, status will be set to pending.
Once confirmed, the client will also receive a payment request for the
appointment fee. The payment must be made before the appointment takes
place. After payment is authorised the client and expert can talk
using the OaBell messaging system or instant chatting system (Click on the OaBell Chat button to open the instant chat window for text, voice and video chatting.).
What is the payment process?
When you make a booking with an expert for an online session, you will receive an email notification that will direct you to PayPal where you then deposit the session fee. PayPal will hold the funds for up to 28 days, the booking date should be within this time frame. Once the online service has taken place you will release the payment through your OaBell account. You should only release funds after the session has taken place. After 2 days, the payment will be released to the expert automatically. Here is an example of how the payment process works:
Client books and expert confirms an appointment. The client then authorizes the payment request. These funds will be held by PayPal for 28 days from the day of authorization.
Case 1: The client wants to cancel the appointment.
The cancellation can be requested up to 36 hours prior to the appointment date. Full refund.
Case 2: The expert delivers the service on the agreed date.
After the appointment is complete, the client confirms fund release to the expert. If the client forgets to release funds to the expert then OaBell will release the funds automatically 2 days after the appointment date . Any dispute between the client and the expert must be reported to the OaBell Service Center within 2 days of appointment date.
What if I want to cancel a booking?
You can cancel up to 36 hours before an appointment. After making a booking, you can view the details on the "Appointments" -> "Bookings I Made" page. Look for the appointment you want to cancel then click on 'View Status', click "Cancel Booking" button. This will take you to the cancellation page. If the you have already authorized funds for the appointment all funds will be returned to you.
What is the refund policy?
You can cancel a booking and get a full refund up to 36 hours before the appointment time. Any cancellation made less than 36 hours before the set booking time will not be eligible for a refund.
How do I contact an expert?
You can contact any expert at any time by sending a personal message. Communication options for booked sessions, text chat, voice, video or Skype can be chosen when making the booking. If your preferred method of communication is not available you could message a request to the expert.
How do I work with people in different timezones?
Upon registration all users indicate the timezone they live in. All times are automatically converted to the users timezone. When a user is looking at an expert's availability the times indicated have been automatically converted to the users local timezone. While OaBell takes great measures to accurately convert times to different timezones, It is recommended that all experts and clients confirm their booking time with one another. It is very important for both expert and client to keep their timezone information up to date.
How do I find out more about an expert?
When you view an expert's profile you can click on the displayed tabs to obtain further information such as education, experience, and feedback they have received from other clients. Experts are also encouraged to upload Articles and Videos to demonstrate the service they can provide. This is helpful to both the expert and the client. Reading articles and watching video clips from the expert allows the client to see the type and quality of service they would get should they hire the expert.

What is an expert session? How many sessions can I have?
An expert session is a bookable time slot advertised by an expert.
Experts will describe briefly and clearly what can be discussed and learned in one of their sessions.
Clients looking for information/lessons/advice can keyword search for suitable sessions.
This is the main way that clients will select experts to contact through OaBell.
Experts can create up to 3 different sessions, covering completely different topics if they so wish.
The individual experts are in complete control of all features of the different sessions, such as method of communication, frequency, availability, and fee.
Experts will indicate in their OaBell diary when they are available to deliver sessions and clients will select time slots from the expert's diary.
What is the booking process?
The expert will receive an email notification when a booking in their diary is selected by a client. The expert must then confirm the booking. In the case where the expert can't accept the booking, he or she can reject that booking. If desired, the expert can send a message to the client to arrange to choose another time.
What is the payment process for the booking?
When a expert's session is booked the client will receive an invoice through our email notification. The invoice will direct the client to PayPal's Authorization & Capture page where they will deposit the session fee. PayPal will hold the fee for up to 28 days, the booking date should occur within this time frame. Once the session has taken place, the client will give feedback and release the funds through their OaBell account. If the client forgets to release the funds then after 2 days the payment will be released to the expert automatically. This 2 day period gives the client time to raise any issues regarding the session prior to payment.

What if I want to cancel a booking?
After a session is booked both the client and the expert can view the details on the "Appointments" -> "Bookings I Received" page. This page displays all important information about a booking, such as date, time, session title and any notes. Find the appointment you want to cancel and then click 'View Status', then click the "Cancel Booking" button. This will take you to the cancellation page. If the client has already authorized funds for the appointment the cancellation will refund all funds back to the client. Cancellations should be requested more than 36 hours before the scheduled booking time.
What commission is charged on expert fees?
OaBell automatically charges a small percentage of the expert's fee. When setting up a session there is a fee calculator to assist experts in finding the net amount they will receive for any individual session.
How do I get paid?
All earnings gained by an expert will be deposited into the expert's OaBell account. The expert can withdraw funds from the account at any time using PayPal.
How do I deliver services?
A session can be delivered by text, voice or video chat. The delivery method will be defined by the service that is being supplied by the individual session. A preferred method of communication can be arranged between the client and expert before the session takes place. OaBell's online chatting system, click on the button

, will open up an instant chat window where text, voice and video chatting can be done. Documents can also be transferred using OaBell's messaging system.
How do I receive more bookings?
There are several ways for experts to market themselves effectively on OaBell.
Sell yourself in your profile. This page is where you want to write as clearly and as much as possible, listing all special skills, education and experience. Appear friendly and suggest ways in which, through your sessions, you can assist people find out what they want. The more the client can learn about you the better.
When giving a session, always prepare beforehand and always deliver a high quality service! Clients will leave feedback for experts they work with. The better your feedback rating, the more work you will receive. Maintaining a high rating is very important.
Set reasonable pricing for your services, and reflect the value of the service. If you are offering lessons then offer an introductory fee.
Paste a short and interesting article into your "My portfolio" =>"Articles" section, discussing something useful in your field of expertise. Write something that would be a good introduction to your field for your ideal client.
Even more impressive would be a short informative video clip that briefly explains something useful, showcasing your talents and skills. This will become the most popular way for people to sell themselves so you should get ahead of the crowd.
Set your profile to automatically keyword search the advert postings so that you are emailed if any relevant adverts are posted by clients.
Increase exposure by participating in Forum Discussions and Ask an Expert. Your visibility is key, clients who see your name in discussions will be more likely to seek you out.
Apply to appear on the Live Talk show that is shown regularly on OaBell.
